My Residence: Zoe Jordan, Fashion Designer
Where do you live and why?
All Saint's Road, Notting Hill, because it's diverse, colourful and feels like London should be.
What inspired you to get into fashion?
The fashion world has always been my great love but my first career was a trader in the city. I was frustrated by the lack of well-made luxurious clothes that I could wear in the day and go straight out at night in and still feel great. The AW08 collection is all about "thrown on glamour".
Who is a quintessential Irwin & Jordan client?
A boy's best friend, a girl's confidante, with a glint in her eye...
What inspired your A/W collection?
Thirties film and the glossy glamour of that era, the people that wear their best everyday
What are your favourite pieces from the A/W collection?
Groucho dresses (pictured),Walmer blouse and the Holland playsuit
What designers do you admire?
YSL (pictured), Marni, Alexander Wang
Trend predictions for A/W08?
Sophisticated 70s - high waists, strong masculine trousers and lace, panelled oversized coats and head scarves.
What's your favourite shop?
I love Coco Ribbon, they always have new finds and great gifts for girls, they were also the first boutique in London to sell Irwin & Jordan. Fenwicks is great, it has all your favourite labels under one roof
What's your most memorable local meal?
The annual Jordan Christmas party at Carpaccio, Sydney Street, best day of the year, totally wild. Everyone has to sing for their dinner, last year I sang Valerie!
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
JFK for the secrets (pictured), Pope John Paul II for a good debate, Alan Hanson for a bit of footy chat, Elvis just cos he's Elvis, Joan of Arc for inspiration, Katherine Hepburn for style and beauty, and my Dad to make me laugh!
Whose sense of style do you most admire?
My Ma, or "the Queen" as she is known in our house. This is us Nikki Beach, with Ma in Manuel Canovas.
What's your motto for life?
F**k the begrudgers
Where or how would you spend a 'lost day' in your area?
Wander down Golborne Road, looking through the antique stores, art galleries and vintage stores. Eating falafels at the street market.
What makes you smile about where you live?
Having Guinness and oysters with my mate Kate Wyvill at the Cow... this is us on our summer hols.
What three things would you rescue if your house was on fire?
My laptop, my golf clubs and a bottle of vodka to drown my sorrows....
Where do you go to be a culture vulture?
The V&A, the Electric cinema, Brixton Academy and Spitalfields market in Shoreditch on Sundays.
What's your greatest London extravagance?
Season ticket at Chelsea
Where were the last three places you went on holiday?
Ibiza, sailing in Greece and skiing in French Alps.
Name your desert island essentials.
An avocado tree and Ray Mears
Where would you live if money were no object?
Battersea power station
Zo Jordan never leaves home without...
I wish I could say my keys, but that is not strictly true! However in truth I never leave home without my Blackberry and my new Karen Walker shades.
